FOLDERS & CALENDARS

Using the tabs on your left hand side you can navigate to the specific sections needed.

The information and specifications in the following tabs are only for advertisements placed on our Folders and Calendars.

If you are still unclear and need further help, contact your sales manager.

SIZES & MARGINS

Files need to be designed in the exact size as the Ad Unit Size. Ads are not designed for full bleed. When saving your files into the proper format, do not use any crop or registration marks as these will increase the dimensions of the design file.

SAFETY ZONE: Do not place any important content whether text or images outside the safety zone. There should be at least 1/8” (.125 in) between any important content and the border of the ad.

1 Unit AD – 3.125” X 1.75”

2 Unit Verticle AD – 3.125” X 3.5”

2 Unit Horizontal AD – 6.25” X 1.75”

3 Unit AD – 3.125” X 5.25”

4 Unit Ad – 6.25” X 3.5”

IMAGE RESOLUTION

For best printing results, we recommend files to have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Submitting files with resolution lower than 300 dpi may result in the print turning out pixelated or blurry.

COLORS

All full color artwork and/or images must be saved in CMYK, Grayscale or in one of the accepted Pantone colors. If designed in Pantone colors, you must ONLY use the PMS colors in Accepted Color Chart. You can view or download the color chart below.

WHAT COLOR WILL MY AD PRINT IN?

Unless otherwise stated, all ads are printed in the school colors. Printed colors are determined by school colors. Use the Accepted Color Chart to verify which PMS (Pantone) color is used for specific school colors since some colors are grouped. Products printed in school colors are restricted to 1 or 2 PMS colors. Some folders, calendars and book covers are printed in CMYK. In this case, you can design your ad in CMYK. If you’re not sure what color your ad is to be designed in, please contact the art department or your sales rep.

Disclaimer: We reserve the right to change the final printed product color without notice.

ACCEPTED FILE TYPES

TIFFs are our preferred file type but we also accept the following file types:

JPEG – CMYK or Grayscale

TIFF – CMYK, Grayscale, Duotone or Monotone. Flat & transparent are acceptable.

AI/EPS – CMYK, or Pantone colors from accepted color chart ONLY. (CMYK only if approved)

PSD – CS6 or later – CMYK, Grayscale, Duotone or Monotone. Flat & transparent are acceptable.

INDD – CS6 or later – Pantone colors from accepted chart ONLY. VIEW PMS COLOR CHART UNDER PRINT COLORS TAB

FONTS & LINES

When designing ads in vector based software such as Illustrator or InDesign, all text must be converted to outlines before saving file into finished format. If working in Photoshop, rasterize layer or flatten. Do not use fonts smaller than 8 pts. Note that small or very narrow fonts may not display well on print against dark backgrounds. While thinner lines may be visible on screen, they may not show up on print.

ARTWORK WITH BORDERS

We prefer not to work with and do not recommend using borders on your ads, however if you insist on using a border, please follow these guidelines. The border should be at least 1/4″ thick. If they are necessary in your artwork, keep the minimum border thickness to make it possible for us to even up as evenly as possible to our standard layout. We do not guarantee perfect alignment when using borders.
